Locality is a platform for constructive civic participation. Every post should aim to improve the place we live.

1. Be Respectful

Locality is a space for civic discussion.

Treat other users, community leaders, and municipal staff with respect.

Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, threats, intimidation, and bullying are not allowed.

You can disagree with ideas, decisions, or policies, but attacks on people are not acceptable.

2. Keep Discussions Constructive

Locality is designed to solve real community problems.

  • When posting, be clear and constructive.
  • Focus on the issue, not the individual.
  • Where possible, offer solutions or useful feedback.

Posts that are inflammatory, disruptive, or intentionally divisive may be removed.

3. Post Accurate Information

  • Locality works best when information is reliable.
  • Share information you believe to be accurate.
  • Avoid spreading rumours or misinformation.
  • Clearly distinguish between opinion and fact.
  • Deliberately misleading content may be removed.

5. Respect Privacy

Do not post personal or sensitive information about others.

This includes addresses, phone numbers, private messages, or identifying details without consent.

Protecting privacy helps keep everyone safe.

6. No Spam or Commercial Abuse

Locality is not a platform for aggressive promotion.

Repeated promotional posts, scams, or misleading offers are not allowed.

Local businesses may participate respectfully, but spam will be removed.

7. Use Reporting Tools Responsibly

If you see content that breaks these guidelines, report it using in-app tools.

Our moderation team will review and take action where necessary.

False or abusive reporting may result in action.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

  • Locality uses a three-strike system for violations.
  • First violation results in a warning.
  • Second violation results in temporary restrictions.
  • Third violation results in permanent suspension.
  • Severe violations may result in immediate suspension.
  • Moderation decisions are made to protect the community.
